Career Programs at our Brooklyn Center College


Minnesota School of Business-Brooklyn Center offers career training in business, health science, legal science and information technology. The college offers associate and bachelor's degrees as well as shorter diploma and certificate programs, and, through our online division, MBA and MSM degrees.

College degree programs

Business

  • Accounting.  We offer the BS degree, two AAS degrees and a diploma in accounting.  Bachelor’s degree graduates are eligible to take the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) exam and the Minnesota Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. 
  • Accounting and Tax Specialist.  We offer an associate degree in Accounting and Tax Specialist, preparing students for positions as financial accountants, tax specialists and business consultants.
  • Management Accounting. This associate degree program prepares students for a variety of entry-level positions in the accounting field.
  • Business Administration. GU/MSB-Brooklyn Center offers a bachelor’s degree and an associate degree in business administration.  Students can also earn an MBA online. 
  • Business Administrative Assistant. This diploma program prepares students for positions in small businesses and large corporations.  Graduates are ready for entry-level positions as office administrators, receptionists and computer operators. 
  • Business Management.  Our bachelor’s degree program (on-campus and online) and master's program (online only) allow students to focus on a particular area of business, such as agriculture, finance, human resources, hospitality management, marketing and music business, information technology and health care management.
  • Health Care Management. The health care management BS degree prepares students for entry-level positions in health care administration in public, private and governmental health care facilities.
  • Management.  Students can earn a Master of Science in Management (MSM) through our online division.  They focus on information technology, health care management or managerial leadership.
  • Music Business. The music business AAS program combines business coursework with a solid grounding in audio production, artist management and the recording industry.
  • Sales and Marketing.  This associate degree program provides skills needed in every organization, an excellent way to establish a career in business.

Health Sciences

Our students receive extensive hands-on training through externships and in-class practice.  This means that they are prepared to assist with the organization and delivery of professional services from their first days on the job. 

  • Massage Therapy.  GU/MSB-Brooklyn Center offers associate degree and diploma programs in massage therapy.  Graduates are eligible for memberships in professional associations and are prepared for certification exams.
  • Medical Administrative Assistant.  Our diploma and our two-year degree programs prepare students for office positions in medical settings such as clinics, hospitals and insurance companies.
  • Medical Assistant. This associate degree provides students with the practical skills they will need in clinical settings as they assist physicians with patient care. Students can also choose a medical assistant diploma program.

Legal Sciences

We offer several programs that prepare students for careers in private law firms, law enforcement agencies, private security companies, the courts and correctional facilities. 

  • Criminal Justice. Graduates are prepared for careers in corrections, private security, protective services, private investigations, the courts and law enforcement (some states require additional training for employment as peace officers).
  • Legal Administrative Assistant. Graduates of this diploma program are ready to be part of a legal team and have learned legal terminology, mastered computer operations and developed strong communication skills.
  • Paralegal.  GU/MSB-Brooklyn Center offers Bachelor of Science and Associate in Applied Science degrees in paralegal as well as a post-baccalaureate certificate. Graduates are prepared for positions in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies and the military.

Information technology

People who are able to master and take advantage of technological developments are in great demand.  We help students acquire the skills and knowledge they need for success in the field.

  • Information Technology. GU/MSB-Brooklyn Center offers bachelor’s and associate degrees in information technology and prepares students for positions such as network administrators, support specialists, software programmers and systems analysts.
